"GERMS SONG"

Germs, germs, germs, germs
I said germs, germs, germs, germs
germs, germs, germs, germs
germs, germs, germs, germs.
They´re a bit concerning
so let´s stop them by learning
I´ll tell you how to KEEP THEM OUT
Don´t put your fingers in your mouth!
I said germs, germs, germs, germs
I said germs, germs, germs, germs
If you get really sick and take a day off
you´ll miss out on all the fun.
If you don´t get well quick, fever or cough
you won´t get your learning done!
I said germs, germs, germs, germs
I said germs, germs, germs, germs.
So stick to the FIGHT
protect you and me,
by keeping your hands clean.
Don´t trust your eyes if no dirt can you see
remember where your hands have been!!!
I said germs, germs, germs, germs

I said germs, germs, germs, germs.
They´re a bit concerning
so let´s stop them by learning
I´ll tell you how to KEEP THEM OUT
Don´t put your fingers in your mouth!
I said germs, germs, germs, germs

I said germs, germs, germs, germs.
Don´t put your fingers in your ears
and never ever up your nose.
If you spread your drool all over the school
we´ll all end up in "HOSPI-TOOL"
I said germs, germs, germs, germs

I said germs, germs, germs, germs.
They´re a bit concerning
so let´s stop them by learning
I´ll tell you how to KEEP THEM OUT
Don´t put your fingers in your mouth!
I said germs, germs, germs, germs

I said germs, germs, germs, germs
I said germs, germs, germs, germs
I said germs, germs, germs, germs.

They´re gonna sing out loud and say,
It´s a beautiful day for running in the sun
a beautiful day has just begun
a beautiful day to do what I want to do
oh oh oh
It´s a beautiful day just to be alive
a beautiful day so glad that I´ve got
a beautiful day and I want to share it with you!

4TH GRADERS´ TASK:

COUNTABLE AND UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS

It's important to distinguish between countable and uncountable nouns in English because their usage is different in regards to both determiners and verbs.

COUNTABLE NOUNS

Countable nouns are for things we can count using numbers. They have a singular and a plural form. The singular form can use the determiner "a" or "an". If you want to ask about the quantity of a countable noun, you ask "How many?" combined with the plural countable noun.
SingularPlural
one dogtwo dogs
one horsetwo horses
one mantwo men
one ideatwo ideas
one shoptwo shops
EXAMPLES
  • She has three dogs.
  • I own a house.
  • I would like two books please.
  • How many friends do you have?

UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS

Uncountable nouns are for the things that we cannot count with numbers. They may be the names for abstract ideas or qualities or for physical objects that are too small or too amorphous to be counted (liquids, powders, gases, etc.). Uncountable nouns are used with a singular verb. They usually do not have a plural form.
EXAMPLES
  • tea
  • sugar
  • water
  • air
  • rice
  • knowledge
  • beauty
  • anger
  • fear
  • love
  • money
  • research
  • safety
  • evidence
We cannot use a/an with these nouns. To express a quantity of an uncountable noun, use a word or expression like some, a lot of, much, a bit of, a great deal of , or else use an exact measurement like a cup of, a bag of, 1kg of, 1L of, a handful of, a pinch of, an hour of, a day of. If you want to ask about the quantity of an uncountable noun, you ask "How much?"

6TH GRADERS´ TASK:

SIMPLE PAST TENSE

DEFINITION OF THE SIMPLE PAST TENSE

The simple past tense, sometimes called the preterite, is used to talk about a completed action in a time before now. The simple past is the basic form of past tense in English. The time of the action can be in the recent past or the distant past and action duration is not important.
EXAMPLES
  • John Cabot sailed to America in 1498.
  • My father died last year.
  • He lived in Fiji in 1976.
  • We crossed the Channel yesterday.
You always use the simple past when you say when something happened, so it is associated with certain past time expressions
  • frequencyoften, sometimes, always
I sometimes walked home at lunchtime.
I often brought my lunch to school.
  • a definite point in timelast week, when I was a child, yesterday, six weeks ago
We saw a good film last week.
    Yesterday, I arrived in Geneva.
She finished her work atseven o'clock
went to the theatre last night
  • an indefinite point in timethe other day, ages ago, a long time ago
People lived in caves a long time ago.
She played the piano when she was a child.
Note: the word ago is a useful way of expressing the distance into the past. It is placed after the period of time: a week ago, three years ago, a minute ago.
Be Careful: The simple past in English may look like a tense in your own language, but the meaning may be different.

NOTES ON AFFIRMATIVE, NEGATIVE, & INTERROGATIVE FORMS

AFFIRMATIVE
The affirmative of the simple past tense is simple.
  • was in Japan last year
  • She had a headache yesterday.
  • We did our homework last night.
NEGATIVE AND INTERROGATIVE
For the negative and interrogative simple past form of "to do" as an ordinary verb, use the auxiliary "did", e.g. We didn't do our homework last night.
The negative of "have" in the simple past is usually formed using the auxiliary "did", but sometimes by simply adding not or the contraction "n't".
The interrogative form of "have" in the simple past normally uses the auxiliary "did".
EXAMPLES
  • They weren't in Rio last summer.
  • We didn't have any money.
  • We didn't have time to visit the Eiffel Tower.
  • We didn't do our exercises this morning.
  • Were they in Iceland last January?
  • Did you have a bicycle when you were young?
  • Did you do much climbing in Switzerland?
Note: For the negative and interrogative form of all verbs in the simple past, always use the auxiliary 'did''.

SIMPLE PAST, IRREGULAR VERBS

Some verbs are irregular in the simple past. Here are the most common ones.
TO GO
  • He went to a club last night.
  • Did he go to the cinema last night?
  • He didn't go to bed early last night.
TO GIVE

  • They didn't give John their new address.
  • Did Barry give you my passport?
TO COME
  • My parents came to visit me last July.
  • We didn't come because it was raining.
  • Did he come to your party last week?
